A little about me...
Hello y'all!! I am Mrs. Weber and I am so excited to teach you or your child this year! We are going to have a GREAT time growing and learning in math. I cannot wait to learn all about you and your families. I hope you will take the time to learn a little about me as well!
I was born in Dothan, AL. I have lived in the south all of my life, and I consider myself a true Southerner! I eat boiled peanuts and think the word y'all is grammatically correct! I went to college here in Columbus, Georgia for my undergraduate degree in mathematics. I received my Master's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education in 2012 and am looking to pursue my PhD in Statistics. Ultimately, I will take over the world and finally prove that math and science are the most superior subjects and essential to life on earth.
Ok, that last bit was just joking, but I do hope that my career in education touches the lives of my students both academically and personally. I truly love my job as a teacher, and I love each and every one of my students. I believe teaching is a blessing, as are the young minds in my classroom every day.
This is my seventh year teaching, and my third as a RED DEVIL! I am so excited to be a part of the wonderful faculty at Central High School!
Some of my favorite quotes for a laugh:
Josh Billings-Life consists not in holding good cards, but playing those you hold well.
John Louis von Neumann-If people do not believe that mathematics is simple, it is only because they do not realize how complicated life is.
Author Unknown-Black holes result from God dividing the universe by zero.
Phil Pastoret-If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them.
Paul Erdos- A mathematician is a device for turning coffee into theorems. Mickey Mouse Arithmetic is being able to count up to twenty without taking off your shoes.
Author Unknown-Small minds discuss persons. Average minds discuss events. Great minds discuss ideas. Really great minds discuss mathematics.
Bill Gates-If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.
Author Unknown-Often when I am reading a good book, I stop and thank my teacher. That is, I used to, until she got an unlisted number.
H. L. Mencken-The best teacher of children, in brief, is one who is essentially childlike.
